Online tournaments are held in an Olympic order. The Olympic system or Play-off is one of the sports competitions when a Player drops out of the tournament after the first loss (according to the results of one or several games between the Players, based on which the indisputable winner can be determined). It gives a chance to decide the winner with a small number of rounds and provides a tough competition during the tournament.
The number of Players in the Olympic tournament should comprise the second degree of two (2, 4, 8, 16, 32 etc.). In case of another amount of Players one or several qualification rounds are held. As a result, the total number of the Players decreases and comes close to the degree closest to two.
The rounds are usually held by even numbers: the term “finals” (here the winner is determined), is inserted for one pair, the term “semi-finals”-for 2 pairs, “1/4 finals”- for 4 pairs, “1/8 finals”- for 8 pairs, “1/16 finals”- for 16 pairs, etc.
In each round the Players of the tournament form pairs and compete with each other. The winners of each pair move to the next round and the defeated players drop out. The winner of final round takes the 1st place, while the defeated Player takes the 2nd place.
One of the advantages of the Olympic competition is the minimum number of the matches compared to the other competitions. The Olympic competition allows to decide the winner faster, moreover, the one who hasn't lost to any opponent takes the first place in the fair competition, in case the other Players lose at least one.
*After registering to the tournaments the Player sees in advance the guaranteed prize pool of the tournament which is not subject to changes. The distribution of the prize pool is also preliminarily decided and visible.
